Asst. Chief of Police
“You cannot change the wind, but you can adjust the direction of your sail.” – Author unknown
The men and women of the Georgetown Police Department are doing just that! We are constantly adjusting our sail to change our direction and keep us on the path toward being the standard in law enforcement. Our Department vision, mission, and core values provide the foundational support for this quest, and the women and men provide the strength and backbone.
In June, we were honored to have Cory Tchida named as our permanent Chief of Police. Chief Tchida has been a respected leader in the department and community for years and we are excited for this new chapter to be underway. His leadership and guidance has already had a profound effect on the Department and we are looking toward the future for growth, development, and excellence. For Chief Tchida, myself, and the entire department…failure is not an option.
We proudly “Serve with honor, Protect with vigilance.” We all have a vested interest in the community and the well-being of each and every person that lives in, or visits, Georgetown. We are all committed to providing a service that is of value and is driven by our core values of integrity, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
I want to personally express my thanks and appreciation to the Georgetown community for their continued support and especially to the incredible women and men of the Department for their hard work, dedication, and commitment.
